:: Friday, April 12, 2002 :: Wow, all this is very interesting. I'll bet optomism is healthier because pessimists probably feel more stress, and stress ages you much faster. And of course you're right, Tom, I'm sure it is just my mind. I made a conscious descision recently not to let my mind do that to me. I would stop being pessimistic, and I would stop thinking I was jinxing myself by saying something, and just let things work themselves out. And I did actually feel better. I guess the stress of the end of the term sort of distracted me, and so I haven't been keeping it up for a while, but it really worked. I was happier most of the time than I was, and I was less distracted. Pessimism can be distracting, whereas optomism isn't at all. hmm...I suppose it has to do with not wanting to set myself up, only to be let down. Because as far as I can tell, every time I say something optomistic, the exact opposite happens. I can teach you the fine art of pessimism, my son. You will learn. You know, your shiny optomism is going to make me puke one of these days, Tom. There's no emoticon for vomiting, is there? Ah well. :-P I slay me.:: Thursday, April 11, 2002 :: I'm trying to freak people out here, Mel. You mind?:: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 :: This is where it all changes. We're grownups now.
